Rodolfo Perez, 67, of Rockford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, June 22, 2018. He was born on December 7, 1950 to Aurelia Gonzalez and Nicolas Perez but was raised by his grandparents Elisa & Esteban Gonzalez in Mexico. He married Rhonda Hicks on December 13, 1974. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Rhonda Perez; children, Sonya Perez-Harrington (Shane), Elisa Williams (Aaron), Marcos Perez (Monica) and Laura Tadder (William); beloved Grandchildren, Simon, Brandon, Isabella, Ethan, Marcos Jr, Caden, Marcello, Zander, Mateo, Lainy, and Marisela. Rodolfo was a retiree of Warner Lambert (Mondelez),a member of NRA, and participated in AA. He loved being outdoors, animals, cooking, gambling and travel. Among his favorites were his cats-Fabio and Zorro, and his trip to the Holy Land in 2000. He was famous for his homemade salsa (Rodolsa) and his generous heart towards children and families in need.

Visitation from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in Sundberg Funeral Home,Ltd., 215 N. Sixth Street, Rockford, IL. Visitation from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in Life Church, 5910 Elevator Road, Roscoe, IL with service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Scandinavian Cemetery, Rockford. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
