Roy “Karo” Bentley, age 88, of Payne Gap, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Letcher Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Whitesburg, Kentucky. He was born on November 19, 1929 in Norton, Virginia.

Roy was a son of the late Sam and Maybelle Branham Bentley. He served his country as a United States Air Force veteran. He was a longtime member of the Neon American Legion, Post 104. Roy was well known in the area as an automobile salesman. He was a fan of U.K. basketball and NASCAR.

He is survived by two sons: Roy Bentley II of Payne Gap, Kentucky and Jerry Bentley (Nina) of Port Charlotte, Florida; seven grandchildren: Ronald, Shawn, Barry, Morgan, Sammuel, Abigail and Arianna; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; along with a host of other family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son: Allen Bentley; one sister: Theda Childers and three brothers: Sammy Manuel and Charles.

Visitation for Mr. Bentley will be held on Thursday July 12, 2018 at Polly & Craft Funeral Home of Jenkins, Kentucky with family viewing at 5:00 PM; Public visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Funeral services for Mr. Bentley will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Van Webb officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sam Bentley Cemetery of Payne Gap, Kentucky.
