Calhoun City---James Bernard Jimmy Appleton, 59, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Born February 21, 1959 in Sardis, MS, he was the son of the late Thomas Appleton and the late Bettye Dorr Appleton. Jimmy graduated from Senatobia High School, and then from Northwest Community College. Jimmy and Ann were married in 1986, and lived in Texas up until his retirement 5 years ago. They moved back to Calhoun City at that time and made it their home. Jimmy loved to be outdoors. He loved to work in his garden, but he especially loved to fish. He also enjoyed listening to music and a good game of dominos. Jimmy leaves behind many memories that will be cherished by his family forever.

Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Pryor Funeral Home. There will be a visitation on Saturday from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at the funeral home. Immediately following visitation, a Graveside Service will be held at Bethlehem Cemetery in Bentley. Brian Allen Long will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Cobb, Steve Jones, Jim Eddins, Robert Collins, Tim Garner, and Allan Samples.

He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Ann Appleton; a son, James Appleton of Reno, NV; a daughter, Valerie Appleton, of Texas City, TX; a sister, Mary Ann Eddins (Jim) of Slocum, TX; and six grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Blaze, T.J., Kayla, and Nolan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bettye Appleton, and a sister, Joy Seckler.
