ROGER NELSON GARNER, 61, of Tampa died Thursday at University Community Hospital. A native of Wauchula, he moved to the area in 1939. He worked on a tugboat and was a member of Thonotosassa Church of God. He is survived by his wife, Rafaela; two sons, Roy of Riverview and Roger of Tampa; three daughters, Veronica Bradshaw of Riverview, Karen Whetsell of Georgia and Fabiola of Tampa; five brothers, Johnny of Thonotosassa, Boyd of Old Town, Leland of Thonotosassa, Richard Pierce and Ronnie Pierce, both of Riverview; five sisters, Altha Tucker of Tampa, Dessie Johnson of Heber Springs, Ark., Ola Poole of Chiefland, Shirley McEleveen of Thonotosassa and Darlene Aspenwall of Georgia; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
