Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home, Marshall, with the Rev. Robert Heimgartner officiating. Burial was in Casey Washington Street Cemetery, with military graveside rites.
He was born July 20, 1933 in Jasonville, Ind. to Charlie and Alice Hawkins Spriggs.
He was employed by Trailmobile in Charleston. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Clark County Post 90, and the Marshall VFW. He was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church of Marshall.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Pugh Spriggs; mother, Alice Wright of Linton, Ind.; son, Charles Spriggs of Greenville, Ind.; daughters, Cathy Akins of Lowden, Tenn., Brenda Shelton and Theresa Spriggs, both of Rushville, Ind.; step-daughter, Debbie Clearwater of Paris; and eight grandchildren.
