Joshua Wilson Fisher

Joshua Wilson Fisher, 26, of Bend Oregon, formerly of New Plymouth Idaho, died July 1, 2018, in Bend Oregon. Josh was born in Elko Nevada July 1, 1992.

At age 3 he was welcomed into Richard (Dick) & Susan Fisher’s family circle where he joined his older sister Emily and younger sister Elizabeth (Liz). Josh grew up on the farm exploring the wide open spaces with his sisters and later on learning on how to work and operate equipment. Josh was blessed with endless energy; which helped form the mischievous youngster that he was. Josh never knew a stranger and had a big heart for people who were hurting or alone; always sticking up for the underdog.

As a youth growing up he enjoyed attending church with his family and the youth activities there. He loved to go to Cascade and Warm Lake mountain area for camping, fishing and the freedom of the great outdoors. This played a large part in his love of travel and experiencing new places as he grew older. He especially loved boating and water sports at Black Canyon and Cascade reservoirs. He was active in Boy Scouts, 4-H and FFA; learning how to put that active energy to good use. Through the many years of 4-H and FFA he had several projects including chickens, rabbits, horses and hogs. He also learned firearm safety and was able to bag some wild game.

Josh attended schools in New Plymouth obtaining his GED from TVCC. He then continued to attend TVCC for some time before moving to Bend Oregon. Josh then attended Job Core where he learned about commercial painting. After working at that trade for a while he later attended Central Oregon Community College where he learned his love for the culinary arts. He had several jobs in restaurants and was currently working on a food line in a Bend area establishment at the time of his death. He had a knack for traveling, and used it well. He was able to see many of the southern and western states including Hawaii.

Josh is survived by his father Dick & mother Susan, of New Plymouth, sister Emily Fisher of New Plymouth and sister Liz Fisher of San Luis Obispo, California, paternal grandmother Betty Fisher, maternal grandmother Marion Derie, numerous aunts and uncles & cousins. Josh was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Howard Fisher and his maternal grandfather Lyle Derie.

Services will be held Saturday July 14, 2018 with Interment at Parkview Cemetery in New Plymouth at 10:00 AM followed by a celebration of life at Valley Christian Church, 1325 NW 1 -1/2, Fruitland, Idaho at 11:00 with fellowship time to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Josh’s name to the Payette County Drug and Major Crimes Task Force; checks payable to the Payette County Sheriff’s office 1130 3rd Ave North, room 101, Payette, Idaho 33661
