Gerald Newman, 80, of Culpeper, VA passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017. Gerald was born in Gunnison, Mississippi on June 1, 1937; served his country in the U.S. Army; worked for Safeway until his retirement and served his community in the Honor Guard of the American Legion Post and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

Surviving Gerald are his children Ruth Ann Golden, Margaret McClain, Mary Ann Pinney, Robyn Lazaration, Ronelle Leach, Rochelle Rankin, Kevin Hall and Roxanne Hall-Salem; his sisters, Lorene Bizzle, Doris Goodell, Ruthie Victorino and Linnie Farmer and 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held in Culpeper National Cemetery, Chandler Street, Culpeper, VA on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at 2:00p.m. with military honors provided by the V.F.W. Post 2524 Honor Guard. Rev. Brad Hales will conduct the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be given to the Wounded Warriors Project.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA 22701.
