Funeral service to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be 11:00 am. Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Central Christian Church (650 West William Street Decatur, IL., 62522) with Rev. Don Martin officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service time at the church. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church. Evelyn was born November 3, 1934 in Waynesville, Illinois, daughter of William and Helen (Slaughter) Sumpter. She was a home maker and longtime member of Central Christian Church. Evelyn married Max Sperry on August 15, 1970.
She is survived by her husband, Max Sperry of Forsyth, Illinois., daughter, Dr. Marcella and husband (Bill) McGuinn of Chicago, Illinois, brother, Dallas Sumpter of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Darwin Sumpter, sisters, Dorothy Seymour and Mary Stine.
