Louise "Patricia" Davis Thomason, 88, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 8, 2018.

Mrs. Thomason was born in Eden, NC, the daughter of Cosby Menniffee and Iola Hill Davis.

Her remarkable life began as a premature infant who defied all predictions as she continued to grow and excel in life.

She chose teaching as her profession, but it was more than a profession for her, it was her calling. She was affectionately called "Mrs. T" by her students and made a lasting impression on their lives.

She worked for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system and after retiring at age 65, returned to work a few more years before her final retirement. She remained close to her many teaching friends and students throughout the years.

Mrs. Thomason was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Emory Thomason, and brothers, Joseph Davis and Jere Davis.

Mrs. Thomason is survived by her siblings, Dr. C.M. Davis, Jr. of Winston-Salem, Nancy Davis Colcer of Apopka, FL, and Betty Davis Slater of Durham, NC; brother in law, Oscar Thomason and wife Audrey; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend for over sixty years, Oneida Deese.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 13, 2018 from 12:30 – 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. A private interment will be held.
