Cappy joined The Family in 1968. Her grandmother owned Myers Ranch which neighbored with Barker Ranch; the Family split their time between both ranches - as well as Spahn Ranch - from 1968 until 1969.
Cappy was listed as being present at the alleged suicide of Manson follower John “Zero” Haught on November 5th, 1969. She was a regular at the Family's sidewalk protest during the trial for the Tate-LaBianca murders; along with other followers, she carved an X into her forehead and later shaved off all her hair.
After her time with the Manson Family, Cappy married David "Coyote" Barton and became a mother to 4 children; Cappy & Coyote later divorced. She, like many other former Family members, mostly remained out of the spotlight post-Family, though she gave a few interviews (including for the documentary "Charles Manson: The Final Words" which aired in December 2017 on Reelz).
