Carol Lee Bishop, age 80, of Edina, MO, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018, in the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina, MO.

She was born November 5, 1937, in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of Ellis Roy and Mabel Irene Davis Merrell. Carol Lee was united in marriage to Michael Wayne Bishop on June 6, 1959, at Edina, MO.

Surviving are two sons, Mark Alan Bishop of Olathe, KS, Michael Lee (Sheila) Bishop and their two children Andrew Michael “Drew” Bishop and Austin David Bishop all of Olathe, KS, sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Stockham and fiancée Bruce Normile of Baring, MO, Sue (Dick) Johnson of Baring, MO, Dan (Judi) Bishop of Baring, MO, Janice (Mike) McGinnis of Edina, MO, Brenda (Mike) Beckner of Corydon, IA, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carol Lee was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters-in-law; Jack and J.W. Bishop, Kenneth Stockham, Judy Bishop and Mary Bishop.

Carol Lee graduated from Edina High School in 1955. She graduated from Burlington Beauty Academy and from 1956 to 1959 operated Curly Q Beauty Salon in Edina with Mary Jean Stockham. She was a homemaker whose husband was a career military officer and they traveled all over the world. After his retirement Carol Lee and her husband lived in Columbia, MO for ten years where they raised their family before moving to Edina in 1987.

She was an active member and board member of the Edina First Christian Church. Carol Lee was active in Relay for Life, gardening, maintaining her beautiful yard and spending time with her family, which she loved deeply.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Officiating the services will be Reverend Paul Milliken. Burial will be in the Linville Cemetery.

Music will be provided by Brent Karhoff, soloist and Carol Hayes, organist. Musical selections will be How Great Thou Art and Amazing Grace.

Casket bearers will be Dick Johnson, Mike Beckner, Lewin Davis, Carl Schmidt, Kevin McGinnis and Gerry Goudschaal.

Honorary bearers will be Delbert Rourke, Mike McGinnis, Dan Bishop and Ryan Bishop.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, after 4 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
