Kit retired from teaching elementary school after 30 years of service. She loved teaching first graders to read and enjoyed creating attractive classroom bulletin boards. After retirement she took flying lessons and was very close to qualifying for pilots license when she married Don Love on her birthday in 1991. Don, having his own plane, took them flying.
Don had a farm in Galva, IL, (Knox CO). Kit moved from Logan, OH to Galva following marriage. They spent several years vacationing in FL every year in their RV. In 2009 they moved to Crossville, Tennessee for the milder winters.
She is survived by her sister, Melody Pesta; nieces, Haley Pesta and Cathy Eggleston; nephew. Heath Pesta; along with an uncle and two aunts, plus numerous cousins; and her dog, Briley.
On Don's side of the family, she is survived by four stepsons; Ron, Jeff, James (Sharon) and Rick (Paula) Love; and stepdaughter, Caryn (Randy) Lootens; plus 14 step-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as a sister, Janice Parkins; brother, Lafayette "Buddy" Eggleston; two nieces, Janet and Suzanne Eggleston; and a brother-in-law, Steven Pesta.
Graveside services were held at Galva Cemetery in Galva, ILL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Institute, 29 Broadway, 4th Floor, New York City, NY 10006. The Rux Funeral Home in Galva, ILL was in charge of arrangements.
