Born in Pawtucket, she was the wife of the late Arthur C. Moore and a daughter of the late Henri and Odena (Denault) Blanchette.Â
Rita spent summers with her family in Matunuck. She was a member of Roy Carpenter's Beach and "Garden Club." A communicant of Saints Rose and Clement Parish, she taught religious education and was a member of the Ladies Guild and bowling team. Rita was also a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards. Rita worked as a clerk for Amica Insurance and also worked in food service at Bryant College and CCRI.Â
Rita was the beloved mother of Kenneth A. Moore and his wife, Diane, Karen A. Bagley and her husband, Kevin, and Patricia J. Moore and her partner, Robert Preiss; grandmother of Christopher Moore and his wife, Caryl, Timothy Nadeau, Nicole Nadeau, Lauren Gogolen and her husband, Michael, and the late Nathan Moore; great-grandmother of Mackenzie, Logan, Theodore, and Lena; sister of the late Normand and Andre Blanchette.Â
Her funeral will be Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 8:45 AM from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in Saints Rose and Clement Church, Long Street. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Wednesday, 4-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148 or the Jay Lawrence Foundation, P.O. Box 580, Greenville, RI 02828, will be appreciated.
