Elizabeth “Betty” J. Noble, 95, formerly of Windsor Heights, passed from this life on Monday, July 9, 2018, at Kennybrook Village in Grimes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, July 12, 2018, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, located at 1230 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines, where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Committal services will take place at 12:30 pm, Thursday, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

Betty was born on April 4, 1923, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska to Joseph and Anna (Vetersnik) Libershal. She was a graduate of Plattsmouth High School. In 1945, Betty married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Joseph F. Noble in Plattsmouth, NE and their marriage was blessed with five children. They moved to Windsor Heights in 1968, where they made their home. Betty enjoyed volunteering at Mercy Hospital flower shop and served on the board of the Iowa Blood Bank. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church for many years and began their contribution program to the Des Moines Food Pantry.

Survivors include her four daughters: JoAnn (Richard) Engel of Indianapolis, IN, Carla (Bruce) Berlin of Urbandale, Mary Jean (William) Morrissey of St. Louis, MO and Elizabeth (James) Faunce of North Aurora, IL; son, Michael (Rebecca) Noble of Hermosa Beach, CA; and 14 grandchildren: Mark (Cassandra) Engel, Amy Engel, Ann (Rusty) Kinney, Eddie Berlin, Tom (Lindsay) Berlin, Aggie (Mark) Shwayder, Martha (George) Fisher, Jo Jo Noble, Megan (Justin) Wilkinson, Chris (Jamie) Morrissey, Katie Morrissey, Ben Faunce, Charlie Faunce, Ellie Faunce; and 13 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. Betty was preceded into eternal life by her husband, Joe in 2013.

Betty’s family would like to thank the compassionate staff and volunteers at KennyBrook for their years of loving care and support. And a big thank you to Ann Dols for her years of friendship and spiritual devotion.
