Charlene A. Childers, 80, of Boise passed away July 3, 2018.
Born February 13, 1937, in Laurel, Nebraska, to Charles and Edith Thatcher. The oldest of two children, Charlene came to Boise, Idaho in 1941. She attended public schools through the sixth grade, and then was enrolled at St. Mary's Catholic School in the 7th and 8th grades. She attended Boise High School from the 9th grade through graduation.
Charlene was a doting wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found time to manage family affairs, belong to the U.S. Air Forces NCO wives club and worked at various jobs to help support the family. She experienced travel to The Island of Guam, Japan, Mexico and Canada as well as several locations in the United States due to military assignments and travels. As an active member of the Sacred Heart Church, she attended weekly mass and Holy days.
She is survived by her husband, Charles, of sixty-two years. Her daughter, Julie (Phil) Jones, Jacquelyn (James) Raitter, and son Christopher (Andrea). Grandsons Andrew, Nicholas, Connor, John and granddaughter Sarah. Great-grandsons, Charles and Maddox and great-granddaughter Carlie. She is preceded in death by her parents and younger brother Thomas.

A committal service will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery located at 10100 Horseshoe Bend Rd., Boise, Idaho.
