Mahdeen Hester McCoy, 90, of Fairfax Avenue, died Friday, August 19, 2011, at Memorial Campus, Mission Hospitals.

A native of Winston, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Otis Leon and Melzie Stephenson McCoy. She was a private piano teacher, and a member of Lord's Church of Asheville (formerly Faith Tabernacle Church).

Ms. McCoy is survived by a brother, James McCoy of Asheville, and by a nephew, Robert McCoy, of Ohio.

The graduation service to celebrate the life of Mahdeen McCoy will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (8-27-2011) at the Lord's Church of Asheville, NC
