Mrs. Elsie Shannon Thompson Ellis, age 96 of Robbins, TN, passed away on July 8, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born December 14, 1921, Elsie was the daughter of the late Hurstle and Ida May Hamby Shannon of the Wolf Creek Community; and was a member of the Church of Christ in Elgin, TN.

In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husbands: Henry Clay Thompson and Dee Ellis; son: W. C. Thompson; daughter: Wanda Phillips; grandsons: Brent Thompson and Little Laughton; great granddaughter: Jade Phillips; sons-in-law: Dwayne Phillips and Alane Phillips; brothers: Elvin and Elzic Shannon; sisters: Elba Todd, Etha Smith and Alta Johnson.

Elsie was survived by her children: Gerald Faye Carruthers and husband, Dave, Lavada Wheeler and husband Tom, Sharlyn Young, Steve Thompson and wife Debbie, and Glenda Jo Phillips; sister: Estle Blaylock and husband Hurbert; grandkids: Wendell Thompson and wife Sandy, Shane Thompson and wife Sandy, Shannen Franklin, Tonja Draughn and husband Danny, Teresa York, Howard York, Tony Foster and wife Treea, Michael Foster and wife Cinda, Roy Young, Kelli Bailey and husband Ryan, Malana Phillips, Carrie Phillips, Josh Phillips; 27 great grandkids, 15 great great grandkids; her nurses at Quality Home Health; her providers and nurses at Grace Primary Care; along with a host of other family members and friends.

Friends may visit the family of Elsie on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Elgin, TN with Bro. Jim Day officiating. Music will be provided by the congregation.

Burial will follow in the Diamond Cemetery in the Wolf Creek Community. Pallbearers will be: Michael Foster, Josh Phillips, Howard York, Wendell Thompson, Shane Thompson and Jared Draughn. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Roy Young, Jr., Ryan Bailey and Tony Foster.
