Russell Leon French, 82, of Beebe died Friday, July 10, 2015. He was born June 13, 1933 in Blytheville to the late Arlie and Ethel Gee French. Mr. French served his country in the United States Air Force for 27 years, retiring as a Tech Sergeant. He served in Vietnam, where he was injured and refused his Purple Heart. He said there were men who were injured and died who deserved it more than he. After his military career, Mr. French team-drove a truck hauling military goods with his wife, Jessie. In addition to his parents, Mr. French was preceded in death by his step-son, Martin Prescher. Mr. French is survived by his wife, Jessie Catt French, his children; Ken French, Michael Prescher, MaLinda Bozeman and Gina French, seven grandchildren; Sara Bozeman, Joshua and Megan Merby and Anna, Katie, Brian and Brad Prescher, one great-granddaughter, Harper Prescher and one brother, Bobby French.
