Mrs. Florence Edna Duncan, age 86, of Rome, passed away on Monday morning, September 26, 2011, in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Duncan was born in Ashley, Arkansas on March 1, 1925, daughter of the late George Hayes and the late Mary Knight Hayes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira Willard Duncan on May 16, 2002, and by 4 siblings. Prior to her retirement, she was a Nurse’s Aide at Floyd Medical Center. Mrs. Duncan was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Morrison, Rome; 3 sons, Jeff Morrison, Rome, Randy Morrison, and his wife, Brenda, Rome, and Nick Morrison, Covington, KY; the father of her children, Sam Morrison, Rome; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 6pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Clifford Free will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5pm until the service time. At other hours, they may be contacted at their respective residences.
