Son of Jonathan Brainerd & Hope (Smith) Strong Brainerd

Marriage to Clarissa Lucy "Lue" Bailey on 27 Dec 1806 in Chatham, Middlesex, Connecticut. Their children: Hope Smith (1807), John Parsons (1808), Harley Osbond (1810), Matilda (1812), Liva (1813), Mary Malvina (1815), Clarissa (1817), Amasa Fielding (1821), Charles (1822) and Sarah Ann (1825).

His daughter, Hope Smith Brainerd was named after his mother.

His son, Amasa Fielding, was given the middle name of his stepmother's deceased first husband, Timothy Fielding, who presumably died in the Revolutionary War.

I believe the first document to be more accurate, and that he died prior to 1840 in Macomb County. See his wife's memorial for additional information. It's been suggested that he died June 9, 1862, but he was not found on an 1850 or 1860 census, and his wife was living with their son in 1840. It does appear he passed before that, or was living elsewhere.
