"Funeral services for John Dennis Ishmael, 86, of Chula, who died Sunday at Hedrick Medical Center, were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from the Presbyterian church in Chula with the Rev. Oliver Shriver of LaPlata officiating. Burial was in the Plainview Cemetery.

Mr. Ishmael was a retired farmer and painter in the Livingston County area and Chula community. He was born March 29, 1886, son of Aaron and Martha Kelly Ishmael. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Chula. He was married to Elma Samm in Dec. 25, 1908. She preceded him in death in 1920.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Bessie) Jones of Chillicothe; a stepson, Bruce Fanning of Chula; five grand-children, 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Severin of Lyons, Colo., Mrs. Clara Gee of Osawatomie, Kan., Mrs. Frances Brown of Minneapolis, Kan."
