Ernest Delzer, 85, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, November 28, 2005 at Innovis Health Center in Fargo, ND.

Mr. Delzer was born June 6, 1920 in Benedict, ND, the son of Wilhelm and Emelia (Wahlgamude) Delzer. Ernest worked in the mines and then was employed with Rural Electric. He entered the US Army on June 6, 1942 and served in the European African Theater during WW II. When drafted he was sent to Germany and was the only one in his group to speak German so he was kept over there as a translator. Upon his discharge from the Army on October 22, 1945 Ernest worked for Kjelstup Ford in Garrison. He married Pauline Jungling on October 27, 1945 in Glendive, MT. In 1961 they moved to Jamestown where Ernest worked for R.M. Stoudt for 25 years. He also worked at the Legion and Eagles clubs.

Ernest enjoyed hunting, fishing and his yard. He was a member of the Eagles and VFW.

Ernest is survived by his three children; Jolene Nitschke, Jamestown, Wade Delzer, West Fargo, ND and Clark Delzer, Jamestown; 4 grandchildren and three sisters; Pauline Steinert, Garrison, ND, Alma (Bob) Walker, Minot, ND and Helen (Vern) Hellum, Garrison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, Allen, one son-in-law, Milton Nitschke and two brothers, Emil & Adolph.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Friday, December 2, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 1, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
