Missing man's body found; foul play not suspected. The body of an Alexandria man missing since November was found Monday afternoon by an inmate road crew in the Sharp Community of Rapides Parish. Rapides Parish sheriff's detectives don't suspect foul play in the death of Billy Roosevelt Lovette, 74, of 462 N. Bayou Rapides Road. Lovette's wife reported him missing Nov. 14, and detectives suspect hes been dead since he went missing, Detective Buddy Willis said Lovette's body, in "pretty good condition," was found 30 to 35 feet from the road amongst some vegetation off of La. Highway 8 in the Sharp Community, he said. Lovette's son told detectives that his dad would just get in his truck and drive out into the pasture until he would get stuck and then would call him and say, "I got stuck," and just hang up, Willis said. And his son would then go out and drive in the pasture until he found him. This is what detectives think happened, Lovette pulled off of the highway and was driving around at a hunting camp when he got confused. He then turned down a "fire break" - a dirt road created by a property owner - where his truck got stuck. After getting stuck, Lovette pulled out a chair from his truck and sat next to it for awhile. He then walked towards the highway. Lovette's body was barely visible with the inmate just spotting parts of his leg. It would have been impossible to spot the body from the road, Willis said. Lovette's silver 1993 Nissan truck was found hidden behind some brush. His watch, cell phone and other personal belongings were still with Lovette, Willis said.
