Johnny Barnes, 70, of Corinth, MS, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Corinth, MS on September 9, 1947 to Grady and Doris Barnes.

Johnny enjoyed life. He loved music and enjoyed listening to his Uncle Ken play piano and eating his favorite food, chicken. He loved to have visitors at his home, and never allowed anyone to pass through the house without offering them a Coke, and engaging them in some way. Johnny was an immaculate perfectionist with everything in his life lined up. Whether it be his sheets, his note cards, or table cloths, if Johnny were nearby there would be no wrinkles and no smudges. His life was filled with limitations, but the one thing Johnny did better than anyone else was to love. He loved with a reckless abandon found elsewhere only in the heart of his Savior. No one we know better followed the commandment of Christ: to love. It is with every confidence that we know Johnny is now in the only place that will never require him to straighten anything to make it perfect, with the one who loved even harder than himself. We are sure he was met by his Savior, who probably invited him to have a chat and a Coke. Perhaps the price Johnny had to pay for having such love was high. But for Johnny, the price was right.

Visitation is scheduled from 12 PM till service time, Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Lance Pate. A eulogy will be offered by Kenneth Wallace.
