Teresa Key, age 80, of Roseville, Michigan, died March 01, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital in Livonia, Michigan.
Teresa was born March 1, 1927 in Tennessee and the daughter of the late Ralph Edgar and Cecil Lena (nee:Turner) Gunn. She was knowm as a very bright and pervasions child. Her sisters would tell you that Teresa was always fun to be around, loved to joke and they would certainly say that "curiosity was her middle name."
Teresa was always a good student, after she graduated with honors, form Central High School in Chattanooga. She then, briefly joined the Army Cadet Nursing Corp. When WWII was coming to an end she met her future husband James Richard Key. They fell in love and married in 1946.
In 1947 they had their first and only child, Mikki. The family lived in Georgia until Richard's work brought them to Michigan. In the 1960's, Teresa worked for Focus Hope Group and donated many hours and years to the "Head Start" program at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Detroit. Teresa shared her love of books by teaching many children to read and write. Richard and Teresa were married for 52 years and the love that they had for one another always showed through out their marriage.
Teresa's love of reading continued on by her quest to read all of the books about our past presidents. She also had a love for her Christian life, loving, giving and sharing. She loved spending time with family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter Mikki (Taras) Jarema. Her granddaughters; Lena Nichols, and Beth (David) Hawksley. Her great grandson Aaron James Hawksley, her siblings Mildred (Harold) Butler, Edna Earl Clark; her special nieces and nephew; Renee Anzalone, Jeanette, Teresa, Ralph Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband James Richard, her father, Ralph Edgar Gunn, and her mother, Cecil Lena Turner, and her brother Billy Gunn.
Funeral services held March 3, 2007 at D. S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren, Michigan. Burial followed at Clinton Grove Cemetery, in Clinton Township.
