STURTEVANT - Jeanne H. Thomas was born February 19, 1916 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed to eternal life on July 4, 2018. She grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Oklahoma City University in 1937 with a BA degree in history and art with the intention of teaching. However, she accepted a scholarship offer to Garrett Theological Seminary on the campus of Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. At Garrett she met her future husband, Herman F Thomas. They were married December 29, 1938 in Oklahoma City. As her husband was a Methodist minister in Wisconsin they moved to his appointment in Plover, Wisconsin. Jeanne was a loyal supporter of her husband's ministry as they moved to various church appointments in the state. She was member of Christ Church United Methodist, United Methodist Women and a member of PEO Chapter CF. She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Thomas of Racine, Wisconsin, and son, Neal (Jan) Thomas, Elkhart, Indiana and their children Jeremy (Amanda) Thomas of Northville, Michigan and Stephanie (Dan) Mendoza, Richland, Washington. Also surviving are great grandchildren Mason, Connor, and Jenna Thomas and Marcella Mendoza. Family and friends are invited to meet at Christ Church United Methodist (5109 Washington Ave) on Saturday, July 7, 2018 for a visitation from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. A service remembering and celebrating her life will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor George Kafer officiating. A private interment will take place at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
