Mrs. Graham was born in Floyd County, November 19, 1947, daughter of the late Rev. Irah Monroe Wood and the late Mary Etta Akins Wood. She was a graduate of Pepperell High School. For over 20 years, she had been an employee of the Floyd County Board of Education, serving as a Para-Pro at Pepperell Primary School. She was a member of the Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Centre, AL. She was a devoted pastor’s wife that supported him at the following churches: Silver Creek Baptist Church, Eden Valley Baptist Church, Bush Arbor Baptist Church, New Nazareth Baptist Church and Sandy Creek Baptist Church. She also served as a pianist and soloist. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Chad Graham.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Hershel Kyle Graham, Sr., to whom she was married on December 21, 1966; 2 daughters, Autumn Leigh Graham, Silver Creek, and Tara Annette Morris, and her husband, Scott, Silver Creek; 3 sons, Hershel Kyle (Shey) Graham, Jr., Silver Creek, Jonathan Shane Graham, and his wife, Regina, Silver Creek, and Nicholas Shawn Graham, and Holly, Silver Creek; 1 brother, Rev. Coleman Wood, and his wife, Jane, Silver Creek; 12 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Billy Rampley and the Rev. Buddy McBride will officiate. Interment will follow in Wax Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble at the Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday at 1:30pm and include: Raymond Burk, Stanley Lamar, Kevin Rhinehart, Gerald Kerr, A.V. Vernon, Ray Chandler, Mike Thompson, and Tim Storey.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
