PEKIN ~ Cheri Jean Davis, 65, of Pekin, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2015 at her residence.
She was born September 16, 1949 in Peoria to Warner W. and Virginia R. (Helms) Pye. Her parents preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Emilee Cunningham.
Surviving are three daughters, Stacy (Carey) Ogborn and Mary Schlitt, both of Pekin and Amy Cunningham of Eureka; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Sandy (Donald) Smith and Lori Benfield, both of Glasford; and one brother, David Pye of Glasford.
Cheri was self-employed, working as a child care provider, retiring in 2012. She also had been a teacher at St. Paul's Wonderland for five years.
Cheri enjoyed playing bingo and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Pekin Boys and Girls Club at 1101 Veerman St. Pekin, IL 61554.
