Elliott Jackson Jones, 37 passed away 16 August, 1999. He was survived by his parents, Jean and Bill Jones of Woodville, Alabama; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Shay Jones of Mobile; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Dan Richeson of Birmingham; niece, Chelsea Jones of Woodville. A memorial service was held Thursday, August 19 at 2 pm in the chapel of the Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that memorials be sent to the 1917 Development Fund, University of Alabama at Birmingham, 908 20th St. South, Birmingham, AL 35205. Scottsboro Funeral Home directing. [Birmingham, Post Herald.] A brunch for family and friends was held at the Jones home in Woodville, Alabama on Sunday, October 17, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. honoring the memory of Elliott. Elliott's ashes were buried on 11 a.m., Monday, November 29, 1999 and afterwards a lunch gathering of family and friends was held at the family home in Woodville.
