Frederick James Sieber (1945 - 2018)

Frederick James Sieber, of Roseville, Calif. died Saturday, June 30, 2018. He was 72 years old.
Fred is survived by one sibling: His brother, William (Bill) Sieber of Green Bay, Wis.; he is additionally survived by Bill's wife, Wanda Sieber and brother & sister-in-law Jerry & Janis Robbins of Cochan, Ga.
Fred's 11 nieces and nephews will always remember and honor their beloved Uncle Fred, who faithfully visited annually and was the giver of the best and most lasting Christmas gifts on the planet: Jerry Ray Robbins, Jr., Jen Robbins Grishem, Joel Robbins, James Robbins and Julia Robbins, all of Kansas.; Christian Sieber, Nevada; Betsy Sieber Jibson, Wis.; Luke Sieber, Wis.; Sam Sieber, Idaho and Louisa & Eleanor Sieber, Wis.
Fred was born to Ronald Charles Sieber and Maude Elizabeth Maney Sieber in Sheboygan, Wis. on November 15, 1945. The family lived in Sheboygan Falls, Wis. where his father worked at Kohler. Fred joined a 3 year old sister, Joanne and when Fred was 7, Bill was born. Fred attended Sheboygan Falls Elementary, Junior High and High School, where he lettered in track and football.
Fred excelled in science and math and graduated Brigham Young University in 1968 with a BS in Physics. Upon graduation, he worked at Chicago Bridge & Iron, then returned to BYU 1972-75, when he graduated with a BS in Computer Science. He moved to Vienna, Va. to work at the TRW aerospace group. Fred moved to Roseville, California in 1999, working for Hewlett Packard until his retirement.
Fred served many years as a clerk or secretary in his local congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. With his sister, Jody, he devoted many hours and traveled many miles to research their family's history and genealogy.
Fred suffered a heart attack while riding bike in his neighborhood on Wednesday, June 27th. The family is grateful to community members who sprang to his aid, administered CPR and called 911. Fred experienced a subsequent, significant brain bleed, then passed away peacefully at Kaiser Permanente hospital in Roseville. He had previously arranged to be a donor which allowed him to give the gift of sight to an unknown beneficiary.
Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Maude (1985), father, Ron (1995) and sister Joanne (2015). Fred will be interred with his family in Wisconsin.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, July 7 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Roseville Stake Center, 211 Estates Drive. Bishop Jon VanWoerkom will preside.
