Marilyn Louise Henderson September 12, 1947 - July 3, 2018 El Cajon, CA

Marilyn Louise Henderson passed away on Tuesday, July 3, at her home, surrounded by her family. She will be remembered as the beautiful, generous and feisty matriarch of her family. She loved the ocean, all things sparkly, and Christmastime.

Christmas was Marilyn's favorite time of the year, and she devoted countless hours to creating magical Christmas memories for everyone. She was the life of every party and she was always happiest surrounded by people she loved.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Michael Henderson; daughters Kristina Louise Scanlan (Thomas Scanlan) and Alicia Nicole Henderson (Curtis Hendrickson); sons Kennard James Anderson (Sharon Anderson) and Troy Michael Henderson (Kristi Henderson); grandchildren Jessica Lynn, Nicole Marie, Grant Michael, Mykala Larrie, Samantha Kinsey, Alexa Mae and Sadie Ruby-Mae; seven nieces and nephews; and two great-granddaughters, Kinsley Faith and Zoey Mae.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Queena Parks; sisters Marsha Lee MacLeod and Melody Lee Kilcrease; and her great-grandson, Hunter James.

Family had a wonderfully broad definition for Marilyn and Michael, and there are countless people who were embraced, loved and included as a part of the family. Born in Ventura, CA, on September 12, 1947, Marilyn attended St. Charles School and Marian Catholic High School (Class of 1965) in Imperial Beach.

She met Michael Henderson the absolute love of her life who she married in 1967, and the two embarked on a 51-year partnership.

Her life will be celebrated at Paradise Point Resort on July 19th at 6:00 in the evening at Paradise Point, 1404 Vacation Road, San Diego, in the Sunset Ballroom. A private interment will follow on Saturday, July 21st..

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Rady Children's Hospital Toy Fund to bring a little of Marilyn's Christmas magic to children when they need it most. Donations can be sent via: http://give.rchsd.org/goto/MarilynHenderson.
