Funeral services for Morris Dean “Bo” Bolton, Sr. of Huntsville, Texas will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00 am at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, with the Chaplain John Larson officiating. Interment will follow at Brooke Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 6, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home.

Bo was born on June 7, 1929 in Tecula, TX to Archie and Bernice Bullock Bolton and entered into rest peacefully in his sleep on July 4, 2018. He married his high school sweetheart, Gwen Dowies, on July 14, 1950 and was happily married for 35 years until her passing on December 8, 1985 at the age of 53.

Bo served as a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952-54. 

In 1981, he retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. as marketing manager with 34 years of service. He then owned and operated Sparkle Super Vac for 36 years up until 2018. 

Bo and Gwen raised three children: Dean, Marty and Bunny. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Huntsville and an avid sports fan. Always involved in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events.

Bo is survived by his son Marty Bolton and Donna of Huntsville; daughter Bunny Unterreiner and husband, Danny of Midway; grandchildren Morris Dean Bolton III of Houston, Kyle Bolton of New Waverly, Kevin Bolton and wife, Gabby of New Waverly, Krystal Merlin and husband, Jason of Magnolia, Beau Walker and wife, Holly of Montgomery, and Brittney Walker of Dallas; great-grandchildren Kevin Bolton, Jr., Felicity Merlin, Justin Herron, Sawyer Herron, and Piper Walker; siblings Doris Bohler of Beaumont, Wayne Bolton and wife, Sylvia of Jacksonville, Ann Southwell of Elmore City, OK, Sue Ezell and husband, Shannon of Jacksonville, Judy Watson and husband, Richard of Jacksonville, Faye Thomason and husband, Johnny of Jacksonville, and Kay Spittler and husband, Larry of Tyler; and numerous nieces, nephews , cousins and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Gwen Dowies Bolton; parents Archie and Bernice Bolton; son Morris Dean Bolton, Jr.; and brother Joe Bolton.
