Charles E. Brown, 89, of Waverly, died at 1:14 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2003 at Morganfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Alice Kirkland, Oct. 11, 2002. Survivors include his wife of 63 years Virginia Alice Brown; three daughters, Wilma Adamson and Peggy Russelburg, both of Morganfield and Susie Buckman of Waverly; two sons, Thomas E. Brown of Evansville, Ind., and Charles A. Brown of Encino, Calif.; one sister Wilma Williams of Charleston, W.Va.; three brothers, Joseph Brown of Evansville, Ind., Harold Brown of Paducah and George Brown of Clarksville; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, May 28, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Waverly with Father Terry Devine officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until service time today at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.
