LaRee Laub Pollock
June 8, 1926 - June 30, 2018 (age 92)

Life Legacy

Enterprise, Utah – LaRee Laub Pollock, 92, passed away June 30, 2018 in St. George, Utah. She was born June 8, 1926 in Enterprise, Utah to Milton and Luella Laub. LaRee was raised in a very loving family with six brothers and one sister, Ruby, with whom she was very close. They had a happy but adventurous childhood. Growing up during the Great Depression her family lived in California, Ogden, Arizona and Enterprise while her father sought employment. Living through World War II was a hard time, as she lost one of her two brothers that served. During the war she worked as an aide at the Cedar Hospital. There she met a returning soldier, Keith Pollock. They were married September 23, 1947 in the St. George LDS Temple and made their home in Kanarraville, Utah. There they had five children: Brenda, Sandra, Charlene, Debbie and finally a boy, Merril. When the coal mines closed down in Cedar Canyon, they moved to Las Vegas for a short time and then were able to move back to her beloved home, Enterprise.
After her children were older, LaRee started work as a reading aide and then in Special Ed. at Enterprise Elementary. She loved those children! She retired after 25 years of touching so many young lives.
LaRee LOVED life and lived it to the fullest. She was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had an unwavering testimony right to the end. One of her goals was to be able to serve in the Church and endure well to the end, which she did, even attending the temple til she was 90. She also served in every organization a woman could, multiple times.
LaRee grew up in a musical family. She and her sister, Ruby, when young started singing together and with close friends, LaRee accompanying on the guitar. LaRee and Ruby sang together for countless events - weddings, funerals, socials, reunions, ect., until they were both old. She was a valuable part of the Enterprise String Band, starting when she was 12 and playing until she was 88.
LaRee was a wonderful devoted and selfless mother to her five children. She was a blessing in their lives as well as her extended family, always giving and caring about everyone. She was positive and loved ALL of God's beautiful world. Because of her kind niece, Diane Munford, she was able to travel all over the world and could be heard often saying, "I'm just filling up on scenery!". One of the saddest times in her life was when she lost her daughter, Sandra Hunt, son-in-law, Bruce and two missionary grandsons: Bryson and Tyler, in a car accident.
LaRee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith; four brothers: Faye, Merril, Normand and John; sister, Ruby; daughter, Sandra and family; great-grandson, Jesse Bracken; and son-in-law, Clint Holt.
LaRee's legacy will live on through her remaining children: Brenda, Charlene (Lee) Bracken, Debbie Holt and Merril (Glenda), all of Enterprise; 21 grandchildren; and 59 ½ great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Enterprise LDS Stake Center, 80 South Center Street, Enterprise, Utah. Visitations will be held Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. , both at the Stake Center.
