Ronald Newton, age 74, died July 4, 2018 at St. Clair Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Born November 13, 1943 in Marston, Missouri, the son of the late Roy and Opal (Fausett) Newton.
Ron attended Tanner Street Church of God for 37 years, having served as an usher for 20 of those years, and he coached Sikeston Little League through American Legion Baseball teams for 15 years. He worked as a delivery driver for UPS for 33 years before retiring in 1998, he then owned and operated Newton Lawn Service along with his son, Darin.
On June 6, 1964 he married Lynn Shaver, she survives of the home in Sikeston.
Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Darin & Mandy Newton of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly & Scott Dudley of Coronado, California; one brother and sister-in-law, Don & Bonnie Newton of Sikeston; and four grandchildren, Christian Dudley, Andrew Dudley, Kylyn Newton and Avery Newton.
In addition to his parents, one sister, Brenda Newton, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 6, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. John Neely, pastor of Tanner Street Church of God, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be Christian Dudley, Scott Dudley, Gregg Fowler, Mike Fowler, Don Curtis and Don Latham.
