Mrs. Nellie Pauline Johns, 84, passed away at Erika Rest Home, Union Pier, at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 27. She had been a patient there for two years.
Mrs. Johns was born July 18, 1888, in Alabama. On Feb. 11, 1921 she was married to Richard C. Johns in Chicago, he passed away May 28, 1962.
Survivors include one son, Carl G. Duce, Sr. of Park Ridge, Ill.; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. A. B. Saul, Oklahoma City; three brothers, Ike Reynolds, George Reynolds, and Sam Reynolds, all of Texas.
She was a resident of Harbert for 18 years, having moved here from Chicago, Ill.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 2, at 11 a.m. in the Connelly-Noble Funeral Home, Three Oaks. Rev. Ronald Magnuson officiated at the services and burial was in Riverside Cemetery.” From The Galien River Gazette, March 8, 1973, page 10
