She was born in Preston, Nevada, on 09 September 1916, to Peter and Mary Loanna Terry Lauritzen. Eomia married Angelo Caesar Prina in Ely, Nevada, on 02 July, 1937; They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on 16 June, 1953. They had 5 children: Peter (Mina), Larry (Arlene), Jeanie Baldwin (Ray), David (Marilyn), and Robert (Carol).
Eomia's youth was spent in Preston, Ely, and Metropolis, Nevada and in Union, Utah.
She attended Jordan High School and later graduated from Eureka County High School in Eureka, Nevada. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Angelo were members of the Ely 1st Ward, Nevada Stake, for 57 years prior to their move to Provo, Utah in 1999. She was an avid supporter of the Relief Society Auxiliary.
She held many Church positions including Primary and MIA President and Stake Missionary. Her special love was teaching songs and dances to the youth of the Church and her presentations of skits and pantomimes.
Eomia worked for many years as a clerk at Elys JC Penney Store prior to her becoming the White Pine County Librarian. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Eomia will be remembered for her great faith, her tenacity and her unmatched energy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo; her siblings, Lauris, Eva, Zelma, Hazel, Edna, Olive, Mary Caroline, Wilson, Vaughn, and Verda.
She is survived by her brother, Orson, her sisters in-law, Idonna (Wilson), and Lona Mae (Vaughn), and her brother in-law, Gordon Despain (Verda); also by her 5 children and their spouses, 26 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, 19 September, at the Rock Canyon Ward in the Mojave Chapel, 3050 N. Mojave Lane, Provo, Utah. The family will greet friends on Friday at the Chapel beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the service. Burial will be at the Mountain View Memorial Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Salt Lake City, Utah, 3:00 p.m.
