Daughter of William Howard and Loodie Pauline Cooke Moore, wife of South Carolina Highway Patrolman, Tommy Hicks. She was a member of the Mullins Church of God. With our precious Mama, the heartbeat of our family, we were as of, July 2, 2018, a family of 40 members.

MARION - Willa Dean (Moore) Hicks of Marion passed away Monday, July 2, 2018, peacefully in the arms of her loving husband surrounded by her children and grandchildren at her residence, after battling a long illness. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018, at Mullins-Marion Freewill Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Palmetto Memorial Gardens directed by Richardson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hicks leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Tommy Hicks of the South Carolina Highway Patrol; five children, Paula Tarte (Jason) of Fork, Ira Hicks (April) of Darlington, Bishop T. Keith Hicks (Kaye) of Bennettsville, Priscilla Jacobs (Preacher Thad) of Lancaster, and David Hicks (Sheree) of Florence; one sister, Doris Skipper of Marion; two brothers, Larry Moore (Linda) and Johnny Moore, both of Marion; 17 grandchildren: Samantha (Trey), Caleb (Tara), MaKayla, Thad, Jason, Kayse, Ira, Tommy Curtis, Tyler, Bradley, Chasity, Hillary, Ceanna, Savannah, Caylee, Cerenity and Austin. 5 great-grandchildren: Mason, Jayden, Gavin, Taylon, and Jaxtyn.

Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her parents, Loodie Pauline & William Howard Moore Sr. Great-granddaughter, Gracelyn Miracle Ford. She is also preceded in death by 6 brothers and 6 sisters in the following order: 2 twin brothers (1936), 2 twin sisters (1949), Betty Jean Squires (1961), William Howard Moore Jr (1971), Mildred Elizabeth Moore (1986), Jimmy David Moore (1992), Charlie Bunyan Moore (1994), Charlie Howard Moore (1995), Marian Joyce Brown (2007) and Mattie Viola Haselden (2016).
