RUBY ZALETEL CHAPMAN
March 23, 1925 ~ June 19, 2018
Ruby Zaletel Chapman danced her way to heaven on June 19, 2018. Ruby was born in Vancouver, Washington on March 23, 1925 to Helen and Tony Zaletel. The family lived in Washougal, Washington where Ruby had a wonderful childhood and graduated from Washougal High.
In 1946 Ruby married Wayne G. Chapman, and moved to Rigby, Idaho where she raised three of the smartest, most talented and hardest working children ever (according to her); Richard W. Chapman, Kristine Case and Katherine Jefferies. Ruby lived 20 years in Idaho, and following a divorce, moved to Seattle where she met and married Gerald Sherman and then Cecil Malmberg.
Mom was always outgoing and loved to dance. She met many wonderful friends and she danced all of her life up into her 70's. She was a wonderful Cook and no one could bake bread like Mom! She loved gardening and shared all of her talents with her family. Mom loved to travel and she traveled across the Us, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico and had a wonderful European trip to where her Father was born in Austria with her niece and daughters. Mom loved all of her friends and family and loved keeping in touch.
Mom is survived by her son Richard Chapman and daughter Kristine Case; 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Leo Barron; sisters, Ilene Prause, Ila Vahsholtz and her daughter Katherine Jefferies.
As requested there was a private memorial and burial at the Washougal Cemetery in Washougal, washington next to her parents and sister Ilene.
