Barbara K. Hale, 96 of Mechanicsburg, formerly of New Cumberland, died on June 25th, 2018 at Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg. Born September 13th, 1921 in Wheeling, West Virginia, she was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Louise Kuhn, and her husband of 63 years, Landis Hale, Jr.

Barbara graduated from Lemoyne High School, Central Pennsylvania Business School and earned an associate degree from Harrisburg Area Community College. She retired as a secretary for the Borough of New Cumberland; she was a 50-year member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland. She was a long-time volunteer at New Cumberland Public Library. Barbara took great pleasure in playing bridge and doing needlework. She kept physically active by swimming at least twice a week throughout most of her life.

Surviving are two sons, Mark L. Hale (Silvia) of Camp Hill, and Curtis C. Hale (Theresa) of Wadell, AZ; a daughter, Pamela H. McGuire (John) of Whitehouse Station, NJ; a daughter-in-law Michelle M. Hale of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren and one great grandson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14th, 2018, at 11AM in the chapel of Bethany Village EAST, 325 Wesley Dr., Mechanicsburg, 17055 (use door 36 – "Bethany Court" entrance). A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
