John R. 'Jack' Skehan, 80, of Greenock, died Monday, April 23, 2007, at home.

He was born May 23, 1926, in Brownsville and was the son of the late John R. and Helen C. Breen Skehan.

He was a member of Saint Patrick Church, Christy Park, and the Greenock Fire Company.

He was a retired foreman from Bucyrus-Erie, and also had worked as Custodian for Manor Elementary School in Liberty Boro.

Jack was a Navy Veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret K. 'Peg' Curry Skehan; son, Larry J. (Pam) Skehan of Peoria, Ill; daughters: Kathleen (Larry) Bennett of Beckley, W.Va., Sharon (William 'Deke') Glass of Ohiopyle, Lisa (Kenneth) Ruffing of Port Vue, Linda (Rick) Combetty of Boston, Pa., Denise (Greg) Rollason of Coudersport; former son-in-law, Frank (Debbie) Nestor of Hillsboro, N.C.; sisters: Mary Bennardo and Helen Skehan of Sharpsburg, Rose Showalter of Latrobe, Aniceta Yester of Pittsburgh; brother, Pete (Mary) Skehan of Payson, Ariz.; grandchildren: Becky, Megan, Ralph, Casey, Nicki, Nathaniel, Jennifer, Ken, Kalyn, and Sean; great-grandchildren: Ashleigh, Tyler, Brandon, Matthew and Ryan; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, John R. Skehan and brothers, James, Robert, Bernard and Philip Skehan.

Friends are welcomed on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., in the GILBERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 6028 SMITHFIELD STREET, BOSTON, ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Saint Patrick Church on Friday, April 27, 2007, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Vincent P. Velas officiating.

Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, Inc., North Huntingdon.
