Ret. Master Sgt. Russell Warren Webb, beloved husband and father, passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011.

Russ was born on Sept. 9, 1930, in Burlington, N.J. He served his country faithfully for 26 years - nine years in the U.S. Navy and 17 years in the Air Force, where he traveled throughout the United States, Asia and Europe before retiring in 1974 at Hurlburt Air Force Base. He earned his Master of Science degree in counseling and human development in 1982 from Troy State University. He began his second career with the State of Florida with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. He retired from this position in 1995 following 10 years of service.

Russ and Libby enjoyed the next 20 years traveling with their camping club "The Golden Falcons."

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rosalyn Duke; brother, Larry; and sister, Lillian Barrett. Russ is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth (Libby) Webb; daughter, Larri Gordon, and husband, Gary, of Lauderhill, Fla.; and nephew, Edward Barrett of Robbinsville, N.J.

The family would like to express their deeply-felt gratitude to doctors, Vergil Brown and John Chaney, as well as the nurses at the Intensive Care Unit at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. Also, the pastors and loving brothers and sisters in Christ at Cinco Baptist Church.

Services will be held at Cinco Baptist Church, 26 Yacht Club Drive, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., on Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. with Dr. Mickey Hawkins presiding. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to the service. Members of the Sunday school class Russ taught for several years will serve as honorary pallbearers. Following services, burial will be in Beal Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the "Raise the Roof" fund of Cinco Baptist Church.
