Mary Ellen Prock, daughter of Wm. S. and Carlotte Prock, was born in Wright County, Missouri, January 8, 1870, and passed away at her home near Plato at 12:30 July 4, 1941, at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 26 days.

She was married August 18, 1897, to Haden H. Arnold, of Plato, who survives her. To this union four children were born, one daughter, Mrs. Anna Green, Waynesville, Mo.; two sons, James Arnold of Chicago, Illinois; and Emmett Arnold, of Lefors, Texas; a third son, Herbert, passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, November 8th, 1926. Surviving also are two grand-daughters, Anna Jean, daughter of James Arnold, and Olga, daughter of Emmett; one brother, Noah Prock, 73 years old, of Competition, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Shafer, 87 years old, living near Competition.

The daughter, two sons and one grand-daughter, Olga, and her brother were with her when the end came.

Mrs. Arnold was a charter member of Plato Rebekah Lodge and was true to its principles and teachings.

She was a member of the Plato Christian church. Funeral service was conducted at the church by the pastor, Rev. E.T. Sechler, with interment in the Lynch cemetery Friday.

All of her married life except about five years has been in this community.

She will be sadly missed in the Lodge, in the church and in the community. -- Contributed.
