Donald "Don" Fearnside passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at the age of 90. He was born and raised in Fowler, CA, and graduated from Fowler High School. He coached Little League baseball for many years. He served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1947. Don was an avid golfer, and a true fan of Fresno State Athletics, and a member of the Bulldog Foundation. He was also a member of the American Legion, Fresno Scottish Rite, and Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge in Selma, CA. He married the love of his life, Joanne Ray, and they had two sons, William and James Fearnside. Upon Joanne's passing, he was blessed with love again in his second marriage to Joan Lindell. Don was very well known in the wholesale plumbing industry working as an assistant manager for P.E. O'Hair & Co. for 60 years. His motto for life was "Work Hard-Play Hard". Don is survived by his loving wife, Joan, of 42 years. He is also survived by his children, William Fearnside and his wife Leslie, and James Fearnside and wife Kathy. Also are surviving are his grandchildren, Jeremy Fearnside and wife Michelle, and Holli Rodriguez and husband Daniel. He was blessed with his great-grandchildren, Christopher and Isabelle Fearnside, and Jack and Samantha Rodriquez. Also surviving is his step-daughter, Kim Brown and husband Geoff, and their children, Cameron, Colin, and Caroline. The family would like to give a special thanks to Don's caregiver Jodie Hutchings. A Viewing will be held at Wallin Fowler Funeral Home, 302 E. Merced Ave., Fowler, CA, on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Fowler Cemetery, 8523 S. Fowler Ave., Fowler, CA, on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. A memorial luncheon immediately following at Belmont County Club. Remembrances may be made to the Animal Compassion .
