MR. MAX LEROY TAYLOR

Max Leroy Taylor, 80, of Gaffney, went home to be with his Savior on Sunday, July 1, 2018. He passed away at Spartanburg Regional Hospital in Spartanburg, SC, of a massive heart attack.

He was born January 2, 1938, in Logansport, IN, to Harold and Kathryn Johnson Taylor. Max graduated from Lebanon High School in 1956.

He was employed in the printing industry for many years, including The Indianapolis Star and Lucent Technologies. During his retirement years, he worked for Shertech of Spartanburg. Max was a member of State Line Baptist Church, Gaffney, SC.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Sandra; daughters, Lisa (Troy) Sage of Apple Creek, OH, and Teresa (Tim) McLure of Mansfield, OH; sons, Daniel (Zella) Taylor of Washington, IN, and Roger Taylor of Indianapolis, IN; step-son, Michael (Cheryl) Jordan of Kapolei, HI; brother Jack Taylor; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Taylor and Tommie Taylor.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 6:00 until 7:00 PM at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee. Services will follow at 7:00 PM in the chapel with the Rev. Kris Showen officiating. Interment will take place in Sugar Plain Cemetery, Thorntown, IN, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to State Line Baptist Church Youth Ministries, 1328 State Line Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.

The family will be at the home.
