Mrs. Dunaway was born in Jackson, MS to the late Charles Rather and Irene Self. She had lived in the Raymond area for the past 30 years having come from West Jackson. Her working career was as a bookkeeper for MS Serum Distributors. Mrs. Dunaway loved going to the mountains, gospel music, hummingbirds and her Sunday School Class. She was known as Maw Maw to anyone who knew her and she was a fine Christian lady and loved her family dearly, always putting others before herself.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Gene Dunaway of Raymond; son, Jay (Karla) Dunaway of Raymond; daughter, Melissa (Edwin) Shelby of Raymond; sister, Ann (Bobby) Jones of Raymond; grandchildren, Andrew Shelby (Megan), Jason Dunaway (Brittany), Brandon Shelby (Cassi), Dillon O’Keefe; great grandchildren, Bowen Shelby, Chloe Shelby and Lily Thompson.
