Benjamin Leslie Lewis, age 74 of Coal City, WV passed away at quitting time, "5:00 PM", on Thursday June 28, 2018.

He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, (June 13th), Cathy, his daughter Valarie, beloved son-in-law Brandon, and the twinkle in his eyes, his granddaughter, Bridget, all of Coal City; his son, B.J., and wife Amanda, and grandson Colton, all of St. Albans.
Ben is also survived by brother, Tom Lewis and family, and sister-in-law Helen Lewis and family; The Lewis families of Tennessee, and numerous cousins on his mother's side of the family. Ben is survived by Cathy's family, Skip and Karolyn Castanon and family, and Mary and Darrel Hughart and family. To the rest of the Castanon family, each and everyone of you- he loved you. To all of his friends, you know who you are, especially Bill and Margaret Farley (he and Bill had been friends for 64 years with never an argument), Rick, Libby, and Patrick Solari, and Amanda Acord and family, who he had watched grow up and loved.

Ben was a man of few words, but you knew he cared for each and every one- If you needed something, you could always check with Ben.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Odelta Lewis, by brother, Robert Lewis, by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Manuel and Grace Castanon, by his first born child, Bridget Manalee, and a niece and nephew.
Ben was also preceded in death by his canine side kick, "Jock", and if you saw Ben out- you would also see "Jock".

Ben and Cathy would talk often lately of family, and family ties. He said, "Never take things for granted, because one day it could be too late to say what you feel and make things right". One day came.

According to Ben's personal wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no services or visitation to be held.

Private online condolences, and other expressions of sympathy may be directed to the family via our guestbook at www.roseandquesenberry.net.

Arrangements are by Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, 1901 South Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV.
