Thomas was a United States Army Veteran, serving in World War II.
He retired from Fisher Body after 30 years. He was an active member of St. George Parish and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Thomas was the beloved husband of Helen (nee Small) Priestly; loving father of John (Nicole) Priestley, Marty Priestley, James (Eileen) Priestley, Joseph (Cathy) Priestley, Dan (Diane) Priestley and Tommy Priestley; 15 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Kathryn (John) McKevitt, Jack (Audrey) Priestley and Dorothy (Robert) Molloy.
Arrangements entrusted to the Vandenberg Funeral Home, Tinley Park.
Interment: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
