Jerry F. Pierce, a retired Vancouver School District employee, passed away at his Vancouver, WA home on Sunday, June 24th, 2018. He was 82.

Jerry was born December 1st, 1935 in Lenox, IA to Fayrl K. "Jim" and Freda Pierce. His parents moved the family to Vancouver, WA during World War II. He graduated from Vancouver High School in 1954 and received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1959 from the University of Washington, where he was also a brother of the Washington Beta chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.

Jerry married Linda Schierman on July 29th, 1960. They raised four sons: Jeffrey, Scott, David and Stephen.
Jerry served as a member of the United States Army National Guard in the early 1960s. After several years working in business administration, Jerry joined his father and brother in the family business building homes throughout Clark County. In 1976, Jerry began working as a carpenter and later as the lead locksmith for the Vancouver School District. He remained with the district until his retirement in 2000.

Jerry enjoyed his years of retirement which included frequent trips to the family vacation home on the Oregon coast, supporting his beloved Washington Huskies athletic teams, showcasing award-winning roses as a member of the Fort Vancouver Rose Society, and recently growing and selling dahlias. Jerry also touched the lives of many as a longtime and decorated baseball coach with Columbia Little League, Heights Babe Ruth, and Alcoa Big League from the late 1960s through the early 1980s. Jerry also loved spending time with family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Linda in 2004.

Jerry is survived by his sons: Jeffrey Pierce of Vancouver, WA, Scott Pierce of Washougal, WA, David Pierce and Stephen Pierce, both of Vancouver, WA; brother, Falen Pierce (Rene') of Vancouver, WA; sisters: Patricia Cox-Hollosy and Dixie Trenary, both of Vancouver, WA; and grandsons: Brandon Pierce, Garrett Pierce and Hunter Pierce.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2nd, 2018 at Park Hill Cemetery located at 5915 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, WA.

Vancouver Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
