A resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, since 1942, Eugene retired in 1978 after 24 years of service as a Glen Ellyn police officer. Following his retirement, he worked doing electrical repairs and plowing snow. A Marine Corps veteran, he was staitioned at Pearl Harbor during World War II (1946 to 1949). He was also a member of the DuPage County and state Police Associations.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred E. Beck of Glen Ellyn: children Steven Beck of South Beloit, James Beck and Jeffrey Beck of Glem Ellyn; granddaughter, Kristina Beck; brother Bill Beck of Montana; sisters, Geri Dicks of Palm Desert, CA, and Phyllis Cummins of Pikeville, ky.

He was procceded in death by his parents, William and Irene Beck.

Eugene M. Beck, 69, of Glen Ellyn died Wednesday in GlenOaks Medical Center in Glendale Heights. Born in Lake City, Minn., Mr. Beck was a police officer in Glen Ellyn for 24 years before retiring in 1978. After his retirement, Mr. Beck did electrical repairs and plowed snow. He served in the U.S. Marines and stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, from 1946 to 1949.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred E.; three sons, Steven, James and Jeffrey; a brother, Bill; two sisters, Geri Dicks and Phyllis Cummins; and a grandchild. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Saturday until the 3 p.m. services in the funeral home."
